Mental Health Court
Eligibility Requirements: 17 or older - IQ of 70 or higher. - Pending criminal charge - Valid mental health diagnosis within past year - Permanent Housing in Macon-Bibb, Peach, or Crawford County - Participate in ALL program requirements and treatment recommendations - Must maintain medication compliance throughout the duration of the program
Disqualifying Factors: Failure to have mental health diagnosis or history - Persons charged with murder, rape, armed robbery, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, child molestation, aggravated assault involving a firearm or any other dangerous weapon - Charges related to the sell, manufacturing, or distribution of illegal substances -Unwillingness to seek alternative pain management if currently prescribed narcotic medications
Drug Court
Eligibility Requirements: Age 18 and older - Committed a drug related crime or where the underling causation of the crime charged is addiction - Voluntary on a Pre-Adjudicated status, when recommended by the DA’s Office - Mandatory when sentenced by the Court - Department of Community Supervision can order participation in to the program under POM or as a special condition in lieu of revocation with Court approval, on a case by case basis- Transfers from out of circuit Accountability Courts are accepted
Disqualifying Criteria: Offenders accused/convicted of the manufacturing, distribution, transfer, or sale of drugs - A pre-existing medical condition requiring prescribed narcotics - Offenders charged/convicted of violent crimes, gang activities, which can also include a firearm or any other dangerous weapon
Veterans Treatment Court
Eligibility Requirements: Age 18 and older – Must have served in U.S. Armed Forces with Honorable or General Discharge –Must be eligible to received VA Benefits/Services Must reside in Macon-Bibb, Peach or Crawford County - Valid and treatable condition involving mental health and/or substance abuse – Participate in ALL program requirements and treatment recommendations – Maintain medication compliance throughout the duration of the program
Disqualifying Criteria: Offenders accused/convicted of the manufacturing, distribution, transfer, or sale of drugs - A pre-existing medical condition requiring prescribed narcotics - Offenders charged/convicted of violent crimes, gang activities, which can also include a firearm or any other dangerous weapon
Parental Accountability Court
A multi-discipline approach focusing on removing personal barriers to paying child support, as well as assisting parents with self-sufficiency, employment, education literacy training and other resources.
Eligibility Requirements: Participants must have a GA DCSS case with an open/filed contempt order, pending arrest order or be currently incarnated for failure to pay child support. Must sign the Terms and Conditions stating willingness to actively participate in program. Must complete intake and assessment to establish barriers to preventing current payments.
Disqualifying Criteria: Certain violent offenders are not eligible. Offenders with civil domestic violence order MUST complete a certified domestic violence program AND deemed best interest of the child.
