Ken Smith is a Superior Court Judge in the Macon Judicial Circuit, which serves Macon-Bibb, Crawford and Peach Counties. He was appointed by Governor Brian P. Kemp and sworn in on January 10, 2024. He is a triple graduate of Mercer University. After earning his B.B.A. in finance and an M.B.A., he graduated from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2007.
He was in private practice from 2007 until his appointment to the bench in 2024. Over the years, he represented clients in a wide variety of legal matters, but his practice concentrated in business and contractual disputes, personal injury claims, and the representation of those accused of crimes in both federal and state courts.
Judge Smith is lifelong resident of the Macon Judicial Circuit and was raised in Crawford County, Georgia. He is married to his wife, Amanda, and together they have two daughters, Lacey and McKenna. He is a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.
